Timber Products

All Timber Products can be adversely affected by the environment in which they are installed, due to moisture in the atmosphere.  We recommend that Timber Products are only installed in areas that have been suitably acclimatised, so the Timber is allowed to find its’ equilibrium moisture content.

Please also be aware that Timber doors mellow over time, so any future additional doors may have a colour variation from the original door selection.

Carcasses

Do not use polish on any surface.  A damp cloth with 5% liquid soap/95% water solution will clean off most marks and spills.  No spillage, even water, should be allowed to accumulate on any surface.  Bleaches, scouring pads, multi surface cleaners, etc. should not be used.

Worktops

All exposed worktop edges must be sealed with a waterproof sealant to prevent water moisture penetration which will cause the laminate to lift.

Laminate worktops are very hardwearing, but sharp knives and objects will scratch the surface.  Ensure chopping boards are used, at all times, and pots and pans are lifted, not dragged, taking care not to drop any heavy objects onto the worktop as this may cause the surface to crack.

The laminate surface can tolerate boiling water and hot cooking splashes, but may be damaged if very hot pans, oven dishes or other items are placed on the surface.  Use heat resistant mats and/or trivets to help prevent damage.

Do not place any appliance on the joint of the worktops, as the moisture and/or heat they can produce could cause damage to the joint.

To clean your laminate worktop, a damp cloth with 5% liquid soap/95% water solution will clean off most spills.  Scouring pads, bleaches and multi-surface cleaners should not be used.  Ensure that any spillage, especially concentrated juices, corrosive liquids, food colourants and water, is wiped off immediately.

Refer to the worktop suppliers’ instructions for further information.

Temperature & humidity

Newly plastered rooms should be left to environmentally stabilize before storage, and installation of the kitchen, whatever their material.

Avoid excessive changes in temperature & humidity as much as possible by ensuring there is adequate ventilation, especially when cooking and washing.

Care should be taken not to position kettles, or any appliance which created large amounts of heat or steam, underneath a wall cabinet, as excessive heat or moisture can damage the units and doors.
