The importance of meeting room names

    By Judith Callens on 17/03/2021
When it comes to creating stand-out meeting room spaces, it’s not just the furniture you choose that makes an impact. Even the name you give a meeting room can have significance and help you reflect your company culture.

A name can reveal a lot about a place, such as reflecting what you want your business to represent. That’s why people think carefully about what to call their company in the first place. The same principle goes for meeting room and conference spaces. Don’t settle for something boring and predictable.

Apart from giving your workspace an interesting kick, naming a room can also have practical purposes such as helping people to find the right one or preventing potential mix-ups when it comes to booking out a space.

Visitors and potential clients may also benefit from this unique procedure as what you call your spaces can show others what you want to stand for and what makes you great and helps to make a good impression before they have even stepped through the door.

You can even take your meeting room names one step further and incorporate them into the overall design of your office for a truly unique identifier.

Which companies have used this technique?

We aren’t the only ones who think that naming your meeting rooms is a good idea. Many well-known and global brands have taken a fun approach to their conference room names. Here are some of our favourites:

    Nike

    • Ronaldo
    • Tiger Woods
    • Michael Jordan
    • John McEnroe

    Twitter

    • Magpie
    • Raven
    • Thrasher
    • Nighthawk

    Facebook

    • Barenaked LEDs
    • Flock of SQLs
    • Fl33twood Mac
    • Jay-ZOMG

There are a few different ways you can come up with your meeting room names and you can make it an enjoyable and interactive experience for your team members or staff.  Ask your employees for ideas and vote for the favourite or you use a meeting room name generator for random inspiration.

    Play it safe

Use the ‘safe’ generator to come up with some names that are relevant to your industry sector and incorporate a room of your choosing – such as a colour. In just a few seconds, you’ll have hundreds of meeting room name ideas that you can pick from.

    Have some fun

Looking for some more interesting and unusual names? Simply choose a category and the number of rooms you need to name and allow the generator to suggest a variety of options on the same theme.

Head to the meeting room name generator!

    Tie in your design

Once you’ve got the names picked out for your conference rooms, you’ll want to make sure they look the part. This means matching the decor and furniture to the name – or at least alluding to the name.

Why not view our beautifully designed and durable meeting room furniture to find the look that’s right for your workspace. Choose from a wide range of styles, colours, sizes, and finishes to create a meeting room that sends the right message and perfectly reflects the name you’ve chosen.
